Children’s Day is licensed by the NJ Office of Licensing to serve
children between the ages of 2 ½ to 7 years of age.
To accommodate, we offer several programs:
Young Preschool / Toddler Program
Children’s Day enrolls 12 young preschoolers (age 2 ½ by September 1st), whose parents meet the income and work eligibility criteria established by the State of NJ Voucher Program. This is a 12-month program, and children are able to attend school from 7am to 5:30pm.
This classroom is primarily a voucher program that is funded/subsidized by the State of NJ. Some families are assessed a weekly co-payment fee that is based on income and family size. 4C’s of Passaic County administers this voucher program. While we assist parents in filling out the application and work with them to understand the eligibility requirements, 4C’s determines final approval and the dollar amount of the fees.
Families, who do not qualify for the state voucher, can privately enroll their child in the young preschool program. Please refer to our downloadable rate sheet below for more details.
NJ Preschool Program
Children’s Day contracts with the Passaic Board of Education’s Early Childhood Department to provide the NJ Preschool Program to 105 three and four year old children who live in the City of Passaic. Children in the NJ Preschool Program must meet strict Passaic City residency requirements. This program is a 6 ½ hour-a-day program that follows the Passaic Public School Calendar. There is no fee for the NJ Preschool Program; although children are expected to remain at the Center for the full 6 hours (8:00am to 2:30pm).
Collaboration with Passaic Family Head Start
For the past 20 years, Children’s Day has collaborated with Passaic Family Head Start to provide additional services to our children and families. Currently, 75 of our NJ Preschool children are also designated as Head Start Families, as they meet the Federal criteria for the program. The increase in funding helps Children’s Day to provide enhanced services to all of our children and families. Children’s Day meets all Federal, Head Start guidelines as part of their collaboration with PFHS.
WRAP Program (School Year and Summer)
From September to June, we offer a WRAP Program to all NJ Preschool children. The program is offered so that working parents are able to start as early as 7am and can stay at the school until 5:30pm. Most days that the public school is closed (such as spring break), we are open for children enrolled in this program. We also offer a Summer WRAP Program that runs, typically from July 1st through August 31st each year. The summer program hours are from 7am to 5:30pm.
Low-income working families can apply for a voucher through 4C’s to pay for all (or a portion) of the school year and summer WRAP Programs. Some families are assessed a weekly co-payment fee that is based on income and family size. 4C’s of Passaic County administers this voucher program, and they have final determination regarding eligibility and dollar amount of fees. Families who do not qualify for the state voucher, can privately enroll their child in the WRAP program. Please refer to our downloadable rate sheet below for more details.
At this time, we are also able to offer the WRAP Program (school year and summer) to children in Kindergarten and/or 1st grade (up to 7 years old). Transportation is not provided.
